Well kids, we did it. 2011 was the biggest, bombest, love filled Woogie year yet! It truly was the YEAR OF THE WOOGIE!! Should we make t-shirts?

On Friday Dec. 16th we had the perfect amount of everything. The music was nothing less than flawless, the Funktion 1 system was sounding sweet and all of you beautiful Woogie lovers were glowing with excitement and dancing with wild abandon. It was rad.

idiot Savant started the night right, getting everyone in the mood with some deep, delicious tech house. I actually overheard a group of people talking about how these guys blew their minds at LIB, one of the truest statements ever. If by some odd chance you haven't heard the idiot Savant set from the Woogie Stage at LIB 2011, then do yourself a favor and go download it right now! Next up was our friend, and 2010 Woogie Stage alumni, John Tejada. I just gotta say that John is maybe the nicest guy on the planet. On top of laying down track after track of amazing, thoughtful techno that made a room full of people completely sweaty, he's just got the sweetest persona, he's always such a pleasure to work with. We love John Tejada!!! Should we make t-shirts?

Then there is J. Phlip. What can one say about this little ray of sunshine, this powerhouse of dirty bass lines tucked neatly away in a petite little girl from Illinois? Well, we had dinner with Jess and her sweet friend Roniti before the gig, and I gotta say, they both stepped right up to our level of dementia . . . clearly she's family! I think Maury Lipschitz, our host of Beat Soup, said it best . . . "She's super cute and she bangs the booty tech!" 'Nuff said. Seriously though, this girl has got something special, and while she has been known to play gigs with food on her face she's got amazing skillz, a redonkulous sound and is cute as a button! Hmmm, should we make t-shirts?

All in all the evening was flawless. We got to connect with some old friends, listen to some truly amazing music and send 2011 off with a BWOOMP!
