Woogie Nights LA 2/17/12 w/ Derek Marin, Sammy Bliss & Mikey Lion!
February 17th brings us another installment of Woogie Nights LA, this time with NYC based DJ/Producer Derek Marin, of Subtrak Records & Thoughtless Music, Mikey Lion from the Jungle crew and a special birthday set by Pocket's own Sammy Bliss!

A drummer turned techno producer, who has been making beats since he was 9, Derek Marin is always working on three things at a time and never seems to get tired. His many iTunes smash hits include Nintendo soundtrack remakes and Depeche Mode reworks. But don’t be fooled, Derek is a serious Tech House producer who has been doing it longer than the other guy, and he will be around when they trade in their turntables for cooking classes. He is integral in the process of finding and remixing some of Subtrak’s greatest talent. If you see him at the club, just be careful. His tolerance is high, and his cackle is infectious.
Check out a couple of Derek's tracks, as well as an awesome mix of all his favorite Booka Shade tracks!

Addicted to music at a very young age, Sammy Bliss quickly became a skilled mix-tape DJ, but it wasn’t until he found himself in LA that the door opened for him to House music and the scene that went with it. After founding the LA based DJ crew Pocket Underground, with his partner Jesse Wright, in 2002, Sammy soon found himself with a monthly residency at Spundae LA and regularly rocking’ asses at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. Also 1/2 of the team that brings the Woogie Stage to Lightning in a Bottle each year, Sammy is always down to bring the dirty, chuggy 4/4 to the masses, as they journey together down the rabbit hole of brain bending beats.
